Well to say my second week in Aussie wasn't very interesting would be a lie. I finally have settled in at the second apartment (pics still to come when I have some internet) and I started to adjust to my new schedule between going to the gym, work, buying the necessities for food and drink and getting out of immediate Chapel St. area that I had spent the first 2 weeks. I have gotten tickets to a few big names that I never thought I would ever get to see. Jackson Browne 3/6), Eric Clapton (3/10) and the The WHO (3/27 at their Grand Prix). Jackson was unreal last week and I even got some video samples from it sure enough I don't have a mic on the camera so much to my dismay the next morning I had about 10 min of Doctor My Eyes, Stay, and Somebody's Baby with no music pretty stellar stuff. Perhaps I should look into these things beforehand. Oh well...
SO i have settled into my new weekly spot on Wednesday's they have an Irish pub called Bridie O'Reillys that I mentioned before which has a pie and beer for $10. Pretty sweet and some live music starts around 9 with 80s and 90s cover songs. Bartneders aren't to hard on the eyes either.
This weekend you will all be happy to hear I went to a hippie fest in the middle of no where. Music I'd never heard of and DJs and Hippies bouncing around flying in most cases. Not really my cup of tea but there was a sufficient vodka and beer supply to cover any discomfort I felt in such an arena. We had a log weekend for Australian Labour Day so I was gone on this adventure from Saturday morning until Monday night. Needless to say I am still catching up on sleep as some assholes set up there own stage in the middle of the camp grounds and bumped techno like 30 feet from our campsite for 2 days straight with literally about 20 min stopping altogether.
I am glad to be back from that one interesting culture the rave scene is...good group that I went with my buddy Stu from work his girlfriend and his roommate. Not sure how soon I'll be venturing off on another one of those but I came to see some different cultures and new continent so I may as well see it all.
I will have some pics up when I get internet in my apartment or remember to bring my camera to work. Went right through some of the area with the Fires this weekend amazing how much damage they've done. Well thats about all I got for now. I will be sure to update after Clapton tonight and with any other shenanigans I may find myself in the near future.
Peace and love
